So happy today!

Since my previous blog post, some things have changed. That donor that we had found was no longer available. We were frustrated at first, but I maintained the idea that she just wasn't meant to be for us. So the search was on at a fever pitch. After looking at quite possibly thousands of donor profiles and photos, we found the one for us. We both love her personality (as written in her profile), her talents, her physical characteristics, really everything. I just spoke with her agency rep from California, and she is beginning the process for us with this donor. This means that she will be sending us the agency agreement to closely read, sign, and get back to them. We also pay the agency retainer fee, and get the donor's first travel expenses taken care of. She will need to fly into PHX for a day trip to meet with my doctor so that he may perform an ultrasound of her ovaries, do some blood tests for her hormone levels, etc. If all goes well, and my doctor gives us the green light, we get the legal paperwork drawn up for us two parties, pay for the lawyer fees for both sides, and away we go....she would fly back to PHX to stay while taking her hormone injections, waiting for the right time for her to have an egg retrival procedure performed. After the procedure, she stays in the PHX area long enough to recover, and then she returns home. Meanwhile, I am hopefully becoming successfully implanted with healthy embryos. And for those that wonder....no, we never meet or speak with the donor. We are choosing to keep it completely anonymous.
We are excited beyond words, and can't wait for this process to get underway. :)

  1. EEEEK! I don't know how you can possibly deal with all of the ups and downs you've encountered during this entire process. You and Jeff are both very strong. I hope that this donor is *the one* and part of the answer to your prayers.
