The roller coaster ride of infertility is a crazy one. 1 in 8 couples face infertility, but very few must resort to using IVF. Even fewer than those must resort to using an egg donor. This is our story about our ride. Scary, exciting, and lonely at times...but in the end very much worth it.
Just the two of us...for now
And so the journey begins...

waiting, waiting
As of this past Monday, our Egg Donor Coordinator at my RE's office let me know that she received the medical profile for our chosen donor from her agency. She stated to me via email that there were a few things that she needed to get clarification on, and then would forward the medical info to my RE to review. If said it all looked ok, she would then set up an appointment for our chosen donor to travel to Scottsdale (the donor lives somewhere in California) to meet with my RE and for him to do the needed initial testings. Like I said, that was Monday. Today is Thursday. We have yet to hear anything. The waiting process is nerve racking. Especially since the donor's agency sent to us Monday some needed documents to sign and get sent back, in order to "reserve" this particular donor before anyone else does. We are waiting to sign these contracts and make the needed deposit until we hear something from my RE's office. Our fear is that we'll sign these things and pay the $1,000 deposit, only to find out that she's not a good bet. Then we would be out of the deposit, unless we found another donor exlusively through this same agency. We have already selected two other possible "backup" donors, but they are at a different agency, so again, we don't want to put all of our eggs into one basket. No pun intended. LOL! So we just continue to wait.....
