A new update from our embryologist

We got fantastic news this morning!! Our embryologist stated that out of the 22 fertilized eggs, 18 are looking excellent. He stated that they are good to go for a 5 day transfer. This means that although he cannot say whether or not all 18 will make it to a blastocyst stage on day 5, they are looking extremely promising. This is wonderful!! There are 4 that don't look as though they're going to make it, as they have only made it to either a 2, 3, or 4 cell as of this morning. Kind of sad, but expected. What wasn't expected was 18 left, all looking so great. :) Hooray!!! Happy dance, happy dance!
What this means in terms of my transfer procedure is that it will occur on Wednesday. As for the number of embryos that will be transfered varies. My RE may suggest 2, or because of my age, he may suggest 3. The ultimate hope is that 1 will stick and grow. So amazing to actually think that as of Wednesday, I just may be becoming a mommy. I am overwhelmed with feelings of love, hope, and excitement. I am blessed.
